Well… we have found a small problem. While on the floor banishing dirt and dog slobber, I noticed a slight discoloration on the bamboo closest to the drain. After lifting out the floor board it became evident that the leak was coming from the shower. The corner with the drain is wet and showing signs of water problems. To figure out how to best solve the problem, we are going to demolish the entire pan and rebuild and tile again. This isn’t something that we want to patch or fix. Every layer of the coach will need to be dried if possible and what can’t be dried will need to be replaced.
UPDATE: The tile is removed with all the backer and grout. The insulation from the the belly has been removed. We have a clean and drying space. There was very little mold and damage leading us to believe it hadn’t been leaking for a long time. We had coated everything with Redguard. It held up and allowed the water to run off of it and into another area where we noticed the problem right away. We will be using this product in the rebuild. It did what it was supposed to do and protected the subfloor of the trailer. Once it drys out we will need to get re built quickly. Pictures will be forthcoming.
