Tiny Wood Stove!

The tiny “Little Cod” wood stove is finally here! It is great. We still need a smoke head and some 4 inch insulated chimney pipe and a few other bits and bobs. Those items will get purchased as funds allow but the construction of the hearth and wood box will begin right away. It will get installed at the end of the bar height dining area with a wood box built under the hearth/platform. I can’t wait.

On the next warm and dry day, I will paint the stove with the supplied paint and fire it outside of the greenhouse so the fumes do not contaminate our living space. This will polish it up to a burnished black and prevent rusting.  Even though it was expensive and for the money we could have bought a season of propane, the quality seems good and we will not only be reliant on propane. So if our batteries are dead and we have no shore power we can still have a warm dry heat. We can even cook on it and heat water. I think it is better to be prepared because you never know.
