Stalled Shower Repair

The bathroom project has stalled. We can no longer find the tile that matches the toilet surround and the back splash in the kitchen. We have been trying to puzzle out what to do. We have four sheets of the original glass tile that we might be able to use to trim the shower and tie everything together. If I can’t find another 5-6 sheets we will need to pick something that matches one color as closely as possible. What a pain!

The leaking drain issue has been fixed. We ripped everything out and then moved the drain to the center of the shower pan. Airstream originally had it in a location that channeled the water over some major seams. Even though they were not actually leaking and the drain was the real issue, we opted to really make sure we would not have to do this again. We upgraded our drain to a Kerdi-Schluter system.  With everything dry and rebuilt, we opted to Redguard everything again and then install the Kerdi rubber sheeting. The tile has really caused some major delays. Until it is sorted out, we are showering at the houses of family and friends. Not ideal.

Kerdi waterproof mat being installed over the painted on Redguard water proofing. The new drain cost a bit but if I have to pay more to never do this again then it is money well spent.
