Little Cod Installation Progress

The fine weather has allowed for more progress to be made on the projects that are in process. The Little Cod hearth is being framed. The plywood base, rear wall and side wall will be protected with fire board and stainless steel.

Even though the height is a bit awkward from this angle, we decided that we didn’t want to crouch down to the floor to load the tiny stove. It will be easier to stoke and there is the benefit of having a large wood box below. We will not be running our to get our tiny wood all the time and hope to stock pile enough for a few days depending on temperatures. The lowest storage area is for a inside tool kit so we don’t have to constantly run to the truck for a few basics. It will also allow for venting and access to the power inverter and fuse panel. Near the interior wheel well, we will in stall a small 12v fan to help keep that area cooler in an effort to aid the stock inverter fan.
