We have decided that with the coming warm weather to once again evaluate what we have and thin out the piles again. How many handbags, backpacks, polar fleeces, vest, coats, did we really need this winter? It has been an ongoing evaluation process and after a lot a reflection on what we actually use and need we are ready to eBay, donate and recycle again. It sometimes takes a bit of effort to part with that item that has never been used and/or wasn’t really wanted because it was gifted and is new. The part of us that doesn’t want to waste things struggles and the part that knows these items can be resold, recycled or donated to some individual that wants or needs them is a perfectly acceptable option. We shouldn’t feel guilty about downsizing if we work to not put the things in a landfill. From here forward, we will need to be clear with people that love us to give us things… edibles, specifically requested items, and experiences are best as we have a very limited ability to store and keep large quantities of things.
In the end, we want every item to have a place, purpose and to be in the Airstream or tow vehicle. We want a seamlessly mobile life. Let’s hope we get there soon!
