It has been an interesting test of our commitment to a smaller more manageable life to be parked in a more traditional rv parking place, a campground. We no longer have the greenhouse to provide shelter from the elements. The barn and giant storage garage have been left behind. This has been harder than we thought it would be. We had grown dependent and comfortable on the extra overflow areas. The truck serves as a lockable tool chest/storage unit and the Prius is our everyday vehicle.
Our stuff, oozes out on occasion as we do projects and find ways to make a living on the road. It has been a learning experience. We have discovered that our storage needs, since we built and designed the Airstream have changed along with a reshaping of our goals and careers. If we really want to stay the course, we are going to need a bigger Airstream. The increase in square footage is not for our personal things but to have space to run a small business too. It has become increasingly easier to thin down and part with possessions that we don’t use or need. We designed the Airstream to meet our specific needs at that specific time and they have changed. More than a year has passed and it looks like we will be starting another project soon. The search has begun and a new renovation story will likely unfold. Stay tuned!
We will also need to prepare the 23ft Land Yacht Safari to be sold. There are several finishing touches and projects/repairs that will need to be completed. That will be bitter sweet, I suspect.
