1979 31ft Airstream Sovereign

This is our completed and lovingly renovated 1979 31ft Airstream Sovereign. We designed it to sleep 4 if needed but only had a guest once. The coach isn’t cosmetically perfect after us living in it full-time but we really had great adventures with this rig. We are buying a traditional house and putting our Airstream up for sale soon. It is a little sad for us as we prepare for big changes. I really hope someone will love and enjoy it as much as we have.

The gloss red cabinets are tough, easy to clean and are bright and cheerful. When we were refinishing the stove/oven, we bought red aluminum sheet metal for the oven door, refrigerator and the plumbing vent pipe to match the cabinets. It seems to be everyone’s favorite feature.
The red sheet metal propane/electric refrigerator to match the red kitchen cabinets.
The pantry! Plenty of full extending storage to meet all our needs.
We went with two small under the counter pull out waste sorting bins. The reasons for this size has to do with the wheel well being under the sink making the space tight and in a small space large trash cans can get smelly as they fill. I would rather empty the trash more often. I do not like to deal with stinky larger waste bins. Interestingly, Andrew and I make way more recycling and compost and very little actual trash.

Clothing storage
More clothing storage, There is a closet with hanging space for our meager dress clothes and jackets. This was plenty for me with some careful organizing. I like to fold my clothes as described in that book by Marie Kondo.
Shower with a seat over the wheelwell
Bathroom storage! I learned how aggravating it was in our 1st Airstream to not have a dedicated dirty laundry space. In this coach, we built a hamper and ensured the under the sink storage was adequate for our needs.
Our couch has a fold out trundle bed that slides out for guests if needed.
So bright and fresh! I will miss the shiny tiny house very much.
