This is one of several pans of overflowing rain water in the eaves of the house attic. It has been a wet season so it has been overflowing for some time. Andrew climbed onto the ladder and scraped and cleaned the silicone off of the roof to see what was really going on. It is annoying that people were claiming that they didn’t know about the leak but clearly were trying to make it stop. We can fix a lot ourselves if we know what to expect. Lying to us has caused stuff to be damaged needlessly. My brother and I are both allergic to cats. This carpet reeks of cat urine and needs to be ripped out before we even get out the air mattresses for our first night. The corner peel shows hardwood floors in both bedrooms! Woo!ummm….. I am not sure what is going on here. The hole in the floor to the subfloor or crawl space under the house? Either way it was hidden by the gross carpet.Peeling back the carpet with Lola helping. The stinky cat urine stained carpet removed. I can see why the previous owners put down carpet. Some stains, damage and the old flooring nails show in a few spots but we are going to sand it down ourselves since it is damaged already.Andrew figures that we don’t have any real furniture yet so we may as well sand all the floors and stain them all one color through the entire house. He isn’t wrong but none of us have used floor sanders before and I am a little worried. It is far from perfect but it is than it was with the carpet. We mixed a can of espresso minwax with dark walnut and rubbed the stain on with a rag. You can see where we took down too much along the edge of the room but only if you look close. It doesn’t bother me,I don’t love gloss floors so I slapped a single coat of satin polyurethane on the floor and called it good. Andrew and Lola are hard on floors and I don’t want to be too fussy. I am not looking for perfection. The living room floor all done
