Fixer Upper – Week 3

I am grateful that I live near an Ikea AS-IS that is awesome. They put built cabinet boxes in AS-IS all the time a fraction of the price.

Andrew is trying to not make things worse by damaging more of the walls as he removes the kitchen. Those home improvement shows where they create drama and take a sledge hammer to the kitchen cabinets is not for us. We are putting these on craigslist to see if we can offset cost a little bit. We could have reinstalled them but we are already going to have to tear down to the subfloor.
Someone actually picked this linoleum.
My hero
Tile board getting installed! Yay!
My brother helping at 2 am because he is awesome and loves me.
I am glad we found a clearance tile that we liked but still paid more than we wanted to spend on this unexpected project.
Ikea ginger snaps for my brother as he and Andrew worked into the wee hours of the morning. This was the first time the boys had done any tiling. I have done some tile but wasn’t home on the night they did it. It looks good. A few tiles are a little uneven few spots but I have a floor. I won’t need antihistamines when I go into the kitchen moving forward. We haven’t been able to cook much. The stove is plugged in elsewhere in the house but we have no sink.
I did the grout myself.
Ikea AS-IS finds! I would prefer to not use corner cabinets if I don’t need to. I find them to be unorganized and frustrating even with a lazy susan inside.
Not a screaming deal but I really like the warm beech butcher block.
