Fixer Upper – More Kitchen Progress

The kitchen project has been slowly continuing in the background of all the other things we have going on. I am finding time management a but of a challenge. We do our best work when we can singularly focus on one big project at a time. This is not our current reality so I am adapting.

Andrew and I joke that our house projects will be done until things are serviceable but all the frosting will be missing. Things like trim, paint and crown molding in the kitchen are not a high priority at this time.

My brother and husband found this wall oven on super clearance. They worked the price down to $250. You can see here that we have the peninsula mostly assembled. We are still on the hunt for a gas cooktop to put over the oven. The oven is a little low but it was a great deal and really looks sharp. I have no idea how to trim it into place.
The back splash
This tile was not on sale but it was this white, gray and pearlescent cream and I thought it would look sharp with the glossy cream cabinet faces. The gloss cream wouldn’t have been my first choice but the price is right, it is light colored and is incredibly easy to clean.

Grout
It is hard to see but in this image but there are matte white stone ovals and gold pearl cream and gray ovals that make the kitchen backsplash shiny and fresh looking.
We have extra gloss cream panels that are hiding a poorly covered window at what used to be the back wall of the house for a previous owner once upon a time.
