I know that mowers can be hell on the rare and expensive curved Argosy windows. They are made by Corning and that gorgeous fishbowl style view comes with a responsibility. I never mow with my chute facing the fleet. It really is a fleet now. We are starting to look like Airstream hoarders. I just can’t help myself when I see one unloved and forlorn waiting for a new life of adventure.
Anyhow, I was mowing the front yard with the old mower with the chute facing away from the backyard and Airstreams. I do a lot of strange maneuvering and mowing backwards to protect the Airstreams. I am sure it is comedy gold for my neighbors wondering what the crazy Airstream folks are up to again. We draw a lot of curiosity and attention. While mowing the front yard, my mower deck had a mechanical fail of some sort and started flinging rocks. I powered down and called for Andrew to help me figure out what went wrong. Hopefully, he would be able to execute the repair quickly and get the poison ivy instead of me.
We had walked by several times to get tools from the back of the house. We either didn’t notice the hole in the broken crumbling glass or it hadn’t gotten to the full glass sprinkle phase. On the last trip around the house, we saw this sad carnage. Andrew looked at me in horror. “What did you do?”

I had somehow managed to throw a tiny rock over the house and into the back yard and it hit the Argosy shattering the window. What are the odds? I am so disappointed. I am not sure what is going to hurt more my pride or my wallet. I am dreading the process of looking for a replacement.
