1975 24ft Airstream Argosy – Ikea Hacking Cabinets

The cabinet boxes are mocked into place. There will be many brackets and screws installed to connect and attach everything later in the build. For now, everything is still being tweaked and adjusted for fitment. It took us a weekend to get this cabinet run installed. I am really pleased with the progress.

The cabinet boxes are being put together and test fit. They are attached with mounting rain onto the back wall and are sitting on supports behind white gutter downspout. The furnace will vent out the future holes cut into the downspout allowing heat the full length of the coach. The clean white metal downspout seems like a tidy solution for ducting heat. I am really happy with how this is turning out.
The gloss gray door has a film on it and looks blue in these pictures where we are test fitting. Everything is painted bright white. No dark dingy corners here!

Lining up the doors can be fiddly but I am happy with the results.
Ikea uses heavy weight glides for the kitchen line. These ones are made by Blum and are sturdy and tough.
The half depth drawers are in front of the wheel well, fully extending upper drawer with a low drawer hidden behind the gray drawer face are going to give a functional and clean look.
Progress! I like the clean tidy look of this with a lot of great storage.
