1977 Airstream Argosy Motorhome – Painting End Caps / Polishing

We decided to paint the steel endcaps since we were polishing Dreamy and had all the ladders and scaffolding out. The weather has been wonderful. They will need more coats of paint but this is a good start.

Andrew and I used a palm sander to sand the end caps before painting.
Sanded, wiped down and ready to receive paint
Rustoleum silver oil based paint in the color Aluminum
This is how I got up to reach the end caps to paint them. Andrew didn’t want me on the ladders.
The rear end cap is getting painted after a thorough sanding and paint.
Dreamy looks a lot better. I used a cheap foam brush and just put it on.
Hello, Dream Boat
Not a perfect polish but it isn’t terrible for a first pass. There are a few stubborn spots of paint that I need still strip of Dreamy.
I was already up here on the scaffolding so I thought I would paint the window trim too.
This is just a little trim but even the small things that get done matter.
Looking swirly but improved.
Shiny!
